Use of fly ash in construction: world practice of technical regulation and application
This paper provides an overview of the regulatory requirements for fly ash used as a primary component of hydraulic cements or active mineral additives for concrete production, as defined by key regulatory documents of international and national standardization organizations. The main trends in the development of methods for assessing the effectiveness of fly ash use to improve concrete's corrosion resistance, sulfate resistance, and reduce the risk of internal corrosion when using potentially reactive aggregates are considered. The problems of large-scale involvement of coal combustion products in economic circulation for beneficial use, including production of building materials, are analyzed.
