Transition to blended cements
The production of blended cements has increased sharply in the United States: while their average share of total Portland cement production was only 1.8% between 2012 and 2019, it will approach 65% by 2025. Today, the most widely used of these binders is IL cement — Portland-limestone cement (PLC). Measures promoting its growth include changes in cement standards, research into new materials, and outreach to cement and concrete consumers.
