Low-water-demand cements to reduce the carbon footprint of the cement industry
This article describes the history, technology, advantages, and applications of low-water- demand cements (LWDC), produced by co-grinding Portland cement clinker (or finished cement), mineral additives, and an organic plasticizer. This technical solution is in line with the current global trend toward environmentally sustainable development in the cement industry. LWD cements have the potential to become the primary end product of cement plants in Russia and other countries—a "green" alternative to their existing materials.| Author: E.G. Gulyakov, V.G.
