Use of fluoride-containing waste to reduce CO2 and NOX emissions during clinker burning
The article discusses the effectiveness of using a waste product from the electrolytic production of aluminum as a fluorine-containing mineralizer in clinker burning. The use of the mineralizer accelerates clinker formation processes, and clinker synthesis can occur at a temperature of 1375—1400 °C, depending on the amount of waste introduced. The reduction in the maximum burning temperature leads to a decrease in specific fuel consumption and emissions of CO2 and NOx. The use of waste from the electrolytic production of aluminum makes it possible to reduce fuel consumption by 4.0—9.0 % in clinker burning using the wet process and by 3.0—4.0 % in the dry production process. NOx emissions can be decreased by approximately 15—20 %, and CO2 emissions can be decreased by 5—8 kg/t of clinker, depending on the amount of mineralizer introduced and the clinker production method.
