Taiwan Cement Corp. (TCC) announced on becoming a member of Climate Group’s EP100 initiative. TCC is the first large-size manufacturing company in Taiwan and the fourth cement company in the world to pass the verification to become a member of EP100. TCC’s commitment includes adopting ISO 50001 Energy Management system and set the target to increase energy efficiency by 50% in 2040 compared to the base year of 2016.

Group sales of $15.0 billion (H1 2021: $13.2 billion) were 14% ahead of the same period last year and 12% ahead on a like-for-like2 basis. EBITDA of $2.2 billion was 21% ahead of 2021 (H1 2021: $1.8 billion) reflecting a strong focus on commercial and operational initiatives which more than offset the impact of cost inflation. On a like-for-like basis EBITDA was 13% ahead and margins were maintained or expanded across all Divisions.

CEMEX announced the plan to expand the production capacity at its subsidiary in Jamaica, Caribbean Cement Company Limited (“CCCL”). This expansion aims for an up to 30% increase CCCL’s cement capacity in Jamaica, through an investment of approximately US$40 million for the first phase of the project.
