CEMEX announced that it is continuing its efforts to lead the transition to a net zero construction industry by implementing several new Carbon Capture, Utilization, and Storage (CCUS) projects throughout its global cement operations.
As part of the continued expansion of its broad portfolio of CCUS technologies, Heidelberg Materials has signed an indefinite global licence agreement with the technology company Leilac, a Calix subsidiary.

HeidelbergCement is further expanding its portfolio of large-scale CCUS projects with a new initiative in the United States. The project at the Mitchell, Indiana, cement plant of HeidelbergCement’s US subsidiary Lehigh Hanson, Inc. aims to capture 95% of the CO2 emissions from the newly renovated production facility and store them in a local onshore reservoir in the Illinois Basin.
