At CEMEX UK’s Rugby Cement plant, a new state-of-the-art bagging line is now operational. Two new lines are now working alongside a recently installed paper bagging line, utilising the very best technology that exists globally, to pack 25kg of cement into weatherproof bags. The new bagging line investment is part of the company’s bolt-on investment strategy and allows CEMEX to reinforce availability and service for packed products in the UK market.

Lehigh Hanson, Inc., is pleased to announce that its Lehigh Cement plant in Union Bridge, Md., will fully transition from producing ordinary portland cement to EcoCem®PLC as its primary product by no later than January 2023. The Union Bridge plant is currently the company’s largest cement plant in North America.

Holcim has secured two investments from the European Union (EU) Innovation Fund for its breakthrough Carbon Capture Utilization and Storage projects in Germany and Poland. Both projects feature scalable technologies to put Holcim at the forefront of Europe’s decarbonization. These programs are part of Holcim’s net-zero roadmap, validated by the Science Based Targets initiative, including its objective to operate at least one net-zero cement plant by 2030.
