Dangote Cement, Africa's leading cement manufacturer, has announced its plans to expand production capacity by constructing a new 6 Mt integrated cement plant in Itori, Ogun State. The Group Managing Director of Dangote Cement, Arvind Pathak, stated that the new plant will strengthen local production of Dangote Cement in Africa.

Holcim has been selected for three grants from the European Union (EU) Innovation Fund for breakthrough Carbon Capture Utilization and Storage (CCUS) projects in Belgium, France and Croatia. Heidelberg Materials acquires SER Group, a leading integrated company in the demolition and construction materials recycling business, based in Heilbronn, Southern Germany. With an annual revenue of around €50 million and three modern recycling sites, SER Group is the market leader in the greater Heilbronn area and employs more than 220 people. The acquisition comes shortly after the take-over of Berlin-based RWG Holding GmbH in November 2022 and highlights Heidelberg Materials’ focus on enhancing its circular economy activities.
