CEMEX REGENERA, CONCRETOS SUSTENTABLES and an engineering company have signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the purpose of establishing a framework for cooperation aimed at developing innovative solutions for the sustainable management of construction and demolition waste in Mexico.
The objective of the agreement is to conduct a technical, economic, and financial study to evaluate the implementation and financing of a recovered concrete upcycling facility. The new technology will enable the liberation and classification of its three components — aggregates, sand, and cement paste — on a qualitative way to further enable their complete reintegration into new concrete.
The result of the study should be a flagship project in the state of Hidalgo. It involves the construction of a processing plant, which will be a pilot project for the introduction of a closed cycle in the construction sector of Mexico.
