Heidelberg Materials Reports 9 % Increase in Operating Result in Q3 2026

Heidelberg Materials increased its revenue by 10 % year-on-year to €6.413 billion in the third quarter of 2026. The result from current operations (RCO) rose by 9% to €1.281 billion. The company attributed the growth to strong performance in Europe, continued growth in North America, improving demand and effective cost management.

Heidelberg Materials is expanding its Transformation Accelerator Initiative, targeting additional savings of €300 million by the end of 2028, following the expected achievement of its initial €500 million savings target by the end of 2026. The new savings are to be realised approximately equally in 2027 and 2028, with a focus on operational efficiency and structural changes, particularly in Europe.

The company also continued to expand its international portfolio. In October, it completed the acquisitions of the Australian construction materials business of Maas Group and a 70 % stake in Peru-based Cementos Inka, which operates two cement grinding plants and two ready-mixed concrete plants. On 7 October, Heidelberg Materials signed an agreement to acquire NCC AB’s aggregates and asphalt businesses in Sweden and Norway, comprising 106 aggregates sites and 44 asphalt plants.

In the field of decarbonisation, construction of the carbon capture facility at the Padeswood cement plant in the UK is progressing. The project is designed to capture around 95% of the plant’s CO₂ emissions, or approximately 800,000 tonnes annually. In Germany, Heidelberg Materials and three other European cement producers have launched a research and development facility in Mergelstetten to test carbon capture using pure oxyfuel technology.
