Holcim Croatia to invest 9.6 mln kuna (1.3 mln euro) in low-carbon cement production

Subsidiary of LafargeHolcim, Holcim Croatia announced that it will invest 9.6 million kuna ($1.5 million/1.3 million euro) in a project to develop low-carbon cement production.
Some 35% of the project cost, or 3.3 million kuna, will be granted by Innovation Norway, the Norwegian government's financial instrument to support development and innovation, Holcim Hrvatska mentioned in a statement on its website.

The project will be carried out at the factory in Koromacno from October 1,2021 to July 31, 2023.

The aim of the project is to boost competitiveness, cut the CO2 emissions, to lower the electricity consumption and emissions of dirt.

The project also involves the construction of a closed warehouse for mineral additives and a new transportation system for their dosage as well as the launch of production of two new brands of low-carbon cement.
