India’s Shree Cement has announced plans to invest US$223m in a new 2.0 Mta cement plant in Maharashtra.
The company has finalized and acquired land in Chandrapur district and is awaiting environmental clearance. After it is cleared, it will take two years for installing the plant. At present, Shree Cement has a capacity of 62.8 Mta.
The company commissioned a 3.65 mtpa clinker unit at Jaitaran, Rajasthan, and a 3 Mta cement mill is expected to start there shortly.
