Pakistan’s Lucky Cement expects domestic cement demand to strengthen in FY27, supported by housing incentives, infrastructure spending and lower financing costs.
In FY26, domestic cement dispatches rose 10.1 % year-on-year to 6.5 million tonnes, while exports fell 8.2 % to 3.1 million tonnes. The company maintained a domestic market share of around 15.6 %.
Lucky Cement continues to improve energy efficiency. An additional 15MW solar project at its Karachi facility has raised total solar capacity to 89.3MW, alongside 28.8MW of wind power. Renewable energy and waste heat recovery now cover approximately 55 % of its electricity needs. The commissioning of UC3 technology on four production lines has also reduced coal consumption and increased clinker output, lifting annual domestic production capacity to around 15.6 million tonnes.
International expansion remains a priority. In the Democratic Republic of Congo, a 1.6-million-tonne capacity expansion is expected to double annual output to 3.2 million tonnes, with completion targeted within 18 months of construction starting. Future overseas investments are expected to focus on African markets.
