On August 26, the President of the Republic of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon, laid the foundation stone for the construction of a new cement plant in Kushaniyon district, Khatlon Province.
The plant, which will be built in the village of Nurafshon, Bustonqala town, on an area of 30 hectares, will be an important step in strengthening the country's production capacity and developing the construction materials industry.
This plant will be built by the Khutalon Cement Limited Liability Company by 2029.The production capacity of the plant is planned to be 1 million 200 thousand tons of cement per year.
Another advantage of the plant is that production is based on the use of local raw materials. The plant is located near the Qurghonteppa limestone deposit in Kushoniyon district, and the necessary raw materials are supplied from this region.
Also, coal will be transported from other mines of the republic to ensure the production process. According to the project, the enterprise will be provided with modern machinery and technology, devices and equipment, and other necessary production facilities, and environmental requirements and environmental safety standards will be taken into account in the process of its operation.
The enterprise will also create a favorable basis for the development of the labor market and the improvement of the social level of the population, since during its construction more than 1,000 local residents will be involved in temporary work. After the enterprise is put into operation, more than 700 permanent jobs will be created.
It should be noted that along with the commissioning of the new production capacity, the position of the Kushoniyon district as a region with great industrial potential will be further strengthened, and domestic cement production will increase.
