CEMROS’s Technical Innovations Department is developing a technology to transition from traditional mechanical regulation of exhaust gases in kiln departments to the use of variable frequency drives (VFDs) for electrostatic precipitator exhaust fans.
The Mikhailovsky branch was selected as the first testing site. The company’s team independently installed VFDs on operating equipment and carried out commissioning works. The results confirmed the expected effect, with an equipment payback period of approximately 8 months.
The Technical Innovations Department, together with the Production Directorate, CEOs and chief power engineers of the company’s facilities, is already working on a project to implement VFDs for electrostatic precipitator exhaust fans at seven company assets.
At the first stage, CEMROS will install VFDs on 20 exhaust fans with capacities ranging from 500 to 1,600 kW. The new equipment will be installed at Achinsk Cement, Maltsevsky Portlandcement, as well as at the Caucasian, Oskolsky, Mikhailovsky, Katavsky and Nevyansky branches.
