Votorantim Cimentos factory in Salto de Pirapora, received a new cement mill that will be installed in the operation as part of a unit expansion project.
The 210-tonne equipment traveled for six months. It came by ship from China and was transported by a convoy of four trucks from the Port of Santos to the factory in Salto de Pirapora. The convoy that transported the mill was 123 meters long.
The mill did not come from China alone. Other equipment that makes up a new milling area of the factory arrived on the same ship.
The new cement grinding will add 1 million tons/year to the production capacity of the Salto de Pirapora plant.
Together with the operation of the unit in the Santa Helena neighborhood, in Votorantim, Salto de Pirapora factory forms the Salto-Santa Helena complex, which will have its production capacity expanded by approximately 20%.
