Nigeria’s Dangote Cement has become the largest cement company in Sub-Saharan Africa, operating in 10 countries.
However, the capacity expansion is moderate now, after a more aggressive strategy in recent years.
Two more projects shall be operational in the coming 2-3 years, the new greenfield 6.0 Mta Itori cement plant in Nigeria and the 2.5 Mta expansion of the Mugher cement plant in Ethiopia.
This will increase Dangote’s cement capacity from 52.0 Mta to 60.5 Mta by 2027/28.
