Production Volumes of RMC and Gypsum in Azerbaijan Show Growth in 8M 2020

In 8M 2020, Azerbaijani enterprises produced 13.05 million tons of gypsum, which is 2.7 times more than in 8M 2019. The production of ready-mixed concrete in January-August amounted to 1202.7 tons increasing by 9.6 % compared to January-August 2019.

The volume of cement production in January-August 2020 decreased by 1.6 % YoY and amounted to 2.19 million tons. The volume of cement imports to Azerbaijan in 8M 2020 amounted to 17,680 tons (down by 19,3 % YoY). The value of imports for the same period decreased by 45.2 % YoY amounting to US$ 3.14 million.

There are three large cement plants with an aggregate design capacity of 3.7 million tons per year in Azerbaijan: Norm Cement, Holcim Azerbaijan and Gazakh Cement Plant.
