SLK Cement solutions to improve equipment reliability

SLK Cement summed up first results of using a modern mobile audit service. Over the year, the cement company managed to increase the transparency and reliability of the primary information collected on the main technological equipment. The new service is one of the key activities of the Reliability 101% program being implemented at the plant.

Level 1 inspection is the heart for stable and predictable production. The sooner specialists notice a malfunction of the equipment, the sooner they will be able to plan its elimination. To digitize this process, SLK Cement specialists chose a full-cycle mobile audit platform based on the company's checklists. Today the service is used as a first-level inspection throughout the plant. Inspectors make daily rounds and record comments using a tablet; about a hundred SLK Cement employees work with the new software.

The use of the new service made it possible to optimize the time of employees, the quality of checks and the accuracy of information transfer has improved: all defects are confirmed by photo and video materials, in the process the data is not distorted or lost. The speed of information transfer has also increased from assistants to drivers and operators to all interested parties. Heads of departments note the ease of implementation of the service: any employee can be taught to use it within a day.

“Inspection reports are sent by mail to all heads of workshops, technological department and technical service, as well as the director of the plant. Such a system allows achieving maximum transparency” - explained Konstantin UTKIN, engineer of the reliability department at SLK Cement.

The use of such service became the next step of the company to improve the reliability of equipment, openness of maintenance and repair processes and their optimization. Further plans include expanding the use of the service, for example, by monitoring the condition of vehicles.
