The Assembly of a Rotary Kiln Stats at a Future Cement Plant Near Yekaterinburg

Tuesday, November 5 — Atomstroykompleks, the largest developer of Yekaterinburg, has begun the assembly of a rotary kiln along with two mills at the construction site of its future plant, ASK-cement. Ultra-high-capacity cranes and specialized crews are involved in the process. The plant is going to operate in the city of Sysert, Sverdlovsk Region.

Its clinker kiln will be one of the main elements of the production process. The kiln body was made at Volgocemmach plant in Togliatti and its parts — 13 pieces, 12 meters long each — were delivered to the construction site in Sysert on a separate trawl with escort. The total length of the kiln body is 170 meters with the diameter is 4.5 meters.

“We weld some of the structures on the ground and then lift them in place. The kiln will be located at 13 meters above ground on special concrete support blocks. Once we lift the whole kiln, we will then finalize scalding” says Alexey Malyshev, Leading Mechanical Engineer at ASK-cement.

A specialized team of CenterSpetsRemont company from the city of Bryansk was hired to mount the kiln, along with two hundred-ton mills. The process requires two high-power cranes with a lifting capacity of 200 tons used simultaneously. One mill has already been set up. The whole process is expected to be finalized before the end of the year.

The new plant will operate on the basis of the existing Izvest Syserti production site. The fine fraction of limestone, which remains from Izvest Syserti's production cycle will be used at ASK-Cement for cement production.

The enterprise will guarantee the maximum quality of the product and stable prices

Atomstroykompleks used a loan at VTB bank to finance the construction. The bank has already provided a credit line amounting to 1 billion rubles. Since the future cement plant is one of the priority investment projects in the Sverdlovsk region, Atomstrokompleks is also reaping the benefits of a preferential interest rate of 8.5 % per annum.
