Turkish cement producer Medcem is to build a £35m cement terminal in the Port of Liverpool.
Construction work is due to start at the end of May with completion scheduled for mid-2026.
The initial phase will feature four silos with a combined storage capacity of 45,000 tonnes, designed to handle both cement and supplementary cementitious materials (SCMs).
The 5.75-acre site allows for future expansion and increased storage capacity in subsequent phases, said the port’s owner.
This development will be Medcem’s second terminal.
