VEB, National institute of development, will invest 5.2 trillion RUB in joint projects with China

Igor Shuvalov, chairman of VEB, commented on the results of the Russian-Chinese negotiations in Beijing.

VEB's portfolio currently includes initiatives worth more than 16.5 trillion RUB with the possible participation of Chinese partners, he said.

Projects in the oil and gas and chemical industries, construction, timber processing, and the construction of logistics centers were discussed.

He pointed out the fact that China is actively showing interest in localizing production facilities in Russia. The plans include creating capacities for the production of automotive and household chemicals and petrochemicals.

Documents have already been signed on the construction of a large construction cluster in the Kaluga region, cement plants and other industrial facilities. According to Igor Shuvalov, this confirms that China is Russia's largest investment partner today.
