The use of polymeric materials for improvement of the quality of well cements

The influence of polymer additives in the form of polymer dispersions and redispersible polymer powders on the technical characteristics of oilwell Portland cement was examined. It was found that with introduction of these additives in the cement in the course of curing polymer films are formed. The increased adhesive and non-rigid properties of the hardened cement paste are explained by the film formation.
