A study of alumoferrite phase of Portland cement clinker
Calcium alumoferrites of different composition were synthesized and kinetics of their hydration examined. Their different hydration activity was established, which explains their different strength. It is shown that in the production of Portland cement clinker, it is necessary that, along with calcium alumoferrites, tricalcium aluminate must be present. In this case, Portland cement obtained from such clinker, upon hardening will have a strength 5—6 MPa higher than cement, where only alumoferrite phase is present.Author: B.V. Gusev, S.
