Cement industry and cement market in the Republic of Korea

The situation in the cement industry and the cement market of the Republic of Korea in the last decade is discussed. A characteristic feature of the country was a very high and quite stable level of per capita cement consumption in those years - more than 1,000 kg on an average. In 2009, the Republic of Korea ranked the 7th in the world in the production of cement, the 5th in its consumption and the 9th in exports. The trends in production, consumption, exports, imports of cement and changes in the product range are demonstrated. Certain issues related to the production of concrete are addressed.
