Concretes of high sulfate resistance
A method for increasing sulfate resistance of concretes with ordinary Portland cements by adding microsilica is proposed. It was found that high sulfate resistance is associated with the specifics of phase composition and structure of the stone formed in the course of cement hydration in the presence of silica fume. It was established that with ordinary cements PC 400-D20 and ShPC 300 and an optimum amount of silica fumes the obtained concrete can be resistant to sulfate solutions with sulfate ion concentration of 20 g/l.Author: L.Ya.
