Effect of silica-containing additives on early Portland cement hydration
The study examines the effect of silica-containing additives – microsilica, white soots and colloidal silica – on calcium concentration, pH value and Ca(OH)2 supersaturation degree of the liquid phase of Portland cement pastes at the early hydration period. It is shown that the SiO2 ultradispersion effect on the ionic composition of the cement paste liquid phase is determined by the SiO2 additive dispersivity and presence of free silanolic groups (SiOH) on the particle surface.Author: A.S.
