Main directions in reducing the power consumption of cement manufacture

The article reviews the ways of decreasing the power consumption in the process of cement production. Except the cardinal area – that of conversion to the dry from the wet one – it discusses the use, instead of natural gas, of alternative fuels, including combustible waste, utilization of secondary heat of the rotary kiln shells. In order to reduce the energy consumption in the national economy, it is important to make rational use of cement in the production of concretes and mortars, as well as to expand the use of cements with mineral additives.
