Turkish cement sector

The article examines the situation in the Turkish construction sector and economy in general in the first half of 2008. It cites the dynamics of cement production in Turkey, as well as domestic cement sales and cement export since 1997, also providing the figures of clinker production and export over the same period. The same indicators are provided for different regions of the country for the first half of 2008.
The increase in the cement production over that period, while preserving the level of domestic consumption, caused an unpredictable 82.1% increase of its exports.
