Holcim Espana burns alternative fuel with state-of-the-art equipment.

Holcim-Lorca in Spain started burning liquid alternative fuels in their 1900 t/h 2-stage
preheater kiln in 1992. In 2001, the plant installed a new FLSmidth DUOFLEX kiln burner and a Pfister TRW rotary weigh feeder for solid alternative fuels. This equipment has allowed increasing the alternative fuel firing ratio from about 30 % to some 50 %. Additionally, kiln operation has become more stable and the capacity of the kiln has increased slightly.
