Practical application of the Rietveld method in the current quality control of clinker and cement at OAO Oskol-Cement

The article describes practical application of the express quantitative phase analysis of clinker and cement by the Rietveld method used for current quality control at 000 Oskol-Cement with the application of XTR' A diffractometer produced by Thermo ARL. The operating mode parameters for diffractometer examination are given, and the test preparation procedure is described. The results of the quantitative analysis of phases by Rietveld method are compared with those obtained by the petrographic analysis and by the ethyl-glycerate method. The absolute error of the quantitative definition of clinker phases by the Rietveld method under conditions of reproducibility and repeatability has been determined.
