Impact of external factors on the IR-thermometry of the rotary kiln shell
The article presents the results of research into the influence of masking factors on the process of temperature measurement of the external surface of cement kilns by means of infra-red (IR) receivers. The following factors were considered: fluctuations of the degree of blackness of the external surface, presence and chipping off of the mud crust, fluctuations of wind speed and precipitations intensity, daily fluctuations of the ambient temperature and sunlight. Requirements were determined as to the measurement accuracy of the external surface temperature by IR control systems.
