Influence of pozzolanic additives in concrete on the alkali-silica reaction with external alkali input.

The influence of pozzolanic additives in concrete (fly ash and metakaolin) on the damaging alkali silica reaction in concrete with external alkali input is ex-amined. Concretes containing a reactive filler (greywacke) were subjected to a periodic action of 10% NaCl solution at temperatures of 20 and 60°C. The distribution of pores by size and the composition of pore liquid in con-crete are analyzed.
