Split bearings for the cement industry

Both planned and emergency work to replace the bearings lead to lengthy downtime of equipment in connection with the accompanying labor-intensive operations. Using split bearings makes it possible to reduce the time of maintenance several times over. The article describes the design and advantages of FAG split bearings, manufactured by Schaeffler (Germany), offers recommendations for their use in the cement industry and gives an example of their successful operation at a cement plant in Spain. It is shown that replacing one-piece bearings with split ones produces a significant economic effect.
