Usage rate and particle size of ground limestone for self-compacting concrete.
The paper examines the influence of ground limestone on the properties of self-compacting concrete, which contains Portland cement as a binder and ground granulated blast furnace slag; on the mix to produce concrete with the plasticizer based on polycarboxylate, and the mortar with the same binder and superplasticizer. It is shown that the flowability of the mortar increases with the increasing content and fineness of limestone. We should expect a similar change in the flowability of the concrete mix. The content of limestone is determined, when it becomes possible, with a certain fineness, to raise the flowability of the concrete mix without increasing the content of superplasticizer or water; at no expense of the concrete strength.Author: O.M.
