The thermogravimetric analysis of the effect of plasticizing agents on chalk and the raw mix.
The article presents the results of thermogravimetric analysis of raw mixtures when heated up to 1450°C in the presence of plasticizers (lignin-alkaline agent – LAA, and technical calcium lignosulfonate - TCL). The effect of LAA and TCL on chalk decarbonization and the processes occurring during the heating of raw material mix was determined. It is shown that addition of plasticizers to the cement slurry offers an opportunity to reduce power consumption during clinker burning, not only by reducing the moisture content of the slurry, but also due to the fact that the burnable components of plasticizers play the part of low-grade fuel.
