Resources of quartz sands in the Russian Federation for cement production and other industries

The use of quartz sands in the production of cement is described, as corrective additives to the raw mix, and as mineral additives to replace cement clinker in order to save it. Sands are used in the production of concrete and dry building mortars as well. The mineral reserve base of sands in the whole country is considered, prospective territories for constituent entities of the Russian Federation are indicated. Proposals are made to improve the management system for the reproduction of mineral resources, the development and use of quartz sand resources on the territory of this country.
