Trends and prospects for the development of cast-in-place housing construction in Russia

The total annual cement consumption of cast-in-place construction in Russia is estimated by OOO Amicron Consulting at approximately 8 to 10 Mt. The construction of cast-in-place residential buildings is dynamically developing in the country. Their share in the total commissioned housing grew from 10% in 2009 to 19% in 2017. Nevertheless, by 2016 the total floor space of the houses built using this technology was only 2.3% of the country s total housing stock. Cast-in-place housing construction is found mainly in the mass market segment, where in 2017 its share exceeded 50%, and is extremely low in the construction of private houses. The regions of Russia vary significantly in the use of this technology. According to the forecast of OOO Amikron Consulting, further growth of cast-in-place building is expected.
