Tagged neutron technology, a new method for elemental analysis of mineral raw materials

The article discusses a new method for determining the elemental composition of a substance —the method of tagged neutrons (MTN). Compared to conventional neutron technologies based on thermal neutrons, MTN has a greater penetrating power, ability to determine the elemental concentration of carbon and oxygen, higher accuracy, and also allows one to determine all three coordinates of the measured area of the object. The characteristics of the MTN analyzers are given – both stationary and flux, installed on the conveyor for online monitoring of the elemental composition of the raw material mixture.
