Optimization of secondary fuels combustion in rotary kilns
One of the important parameters of alternative fuels (AF) which influences their applicability in clinker burning systems is the combustion time. Unitherm Cemcon (Austria) has come up with a computer analysis to compute possible ways to optimize combustion of AFs in a rotary kiln and based on its results created a device called "pneumo deflector". Further development of AF combustion technology has led to the development of another technical solution - a satellite burner. Pneumo deflectors and satellite burners are now successfully operated in cement plants.
