Cemex has reached a sales milestone for Vertua net zero CO₂ concrete in Colombia, surpassing 100,000 m3 of this product, enough to fill 40 Olympic-sized swimming pools. This achievement showcases progress towards Cemex’s ambitious goal for its Vertua lower-carbon cement and concrete products to reach more than half of all cement and concrete sales by 2025.
Cement despatches in Pakistan faced a significant setback in June 2023, with a decline of 22.8%. This decline has raised concerns about the state of the cement industry and its potential impact on the country’s economy. Data released by the All Pakistan Cement Manufacturers Association (APCMA) revealed that total cement despatches in June 2023 were 4.063 million tonnes, compared to 5.264 million tonnes in the same period the previous year.

Huaxin Cement, one of China's leading cement manufacturers, has made a significant move to expand its global presence with the acquisition of a majority stake in Oman Cement. The company announced on Monday that it will purchase an additional stake of 5.08% in Oman Cement via the Muscat Stock Exchange.
Shree Cement Ltd said that it has commenced trial production at its new cement grinding unit of 3 million tonnes (MTPA) capacity in the Purulia district of West Bengal. The total investment in the unit is around ₹550 crore, which the group has entirely funded through internal accruals.
