India's JK Cement plans to increase its cement production capacity to 50Mt/yr by 2030, while focusing on higher capacity utilisation and expanding its portfolio of premium building materials.

The Mineral Products Association of Great Britain (MPA) called on the government to give priority to British construction materials in the implementation of major public projects. The statement was made at a parliamentary reception on 30 June, where representatives of the cement industry, MPs, members of the House of Lords, ministers and officials discussed the role of cement in supporting the country’s construction plans.

The Department of Trade and Industry of the Philippines, together with international partners, has launched the first Cement and Concrete Industry Decarbonization Roadmap to 2050. The document provides for reducing emissions in the sector while maintaining cement supplies for infrastructure, housing and other construction projects.

SaltX Technology, Holcim and Paebbl are implementing a demonstration project for electrified cement production and the utilization of captured CO₂ across the industrial value chain. The project has received funding through the CET Partnership, an EU programme supporting energy and climate technologies.

Holcim has completed the acquisition of Xella, the German leader in the walling market with projected 2026 net sales of EUR 1 billion. The transaction process began in October 2025.

Holcim UK has commenced import and distribution of cement at its flagship Tilbury Cement Works at the Port of Tilbury. The first deep-sea vessel has already discharged material into the site, marking the facility’s transition from construction through to active operations.

Amrize will install an MVR 3750 R-4 roller mill for grinding cement raw material at the Saint-Constant cement plant near Montreal. The equipment will be supplied by a German manufacturer of industrial equipment.
