Heidelberg Materials will acquire the Mick George Group, subject to relevant competition authority approval. The Mick George Group is a market-leading construction and demolition waste (CDW) recycler in the Eastern region of the UK, with an annual revenue of around £220 million.

CEMEX announced that it has validated its 2050 net-zero CO2 target through the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi), becoming one of the first companies in the industry to do so. The validation accounts for CEMEX’s short-term 2030 targets, previously validated by the SBTi for alignment with their 1.5ºC scenario, and long-term targets along its entire value chain.

Votorantim Cimentos, a building materials and sustainable solutions company, has revised its decarbonization targets to 475 kg of CO2 per tonne of cement by 2030. Votorantim Cimentos’ new global target is 8.7% lower than the target of 520 kg of CO2 per tonne of cement, previously announced as part of its 2030 Sustainability Commitments.
