A new compressor unit was put into operation at Oskolcement (part of CEMROS)

Oskolcement (part of CEMROS) successfully launched a new compressor unit as part of an investment project. This will allow to reduce specific energy consumption and save money due to rational use of compressor equipment. The cost of the project amounted to more than RUB 10 million.

The new compressor unit is installed in the raw material grinding division and has a lower capacity of up to 3,000 m3/hour. The existing compressor units at the plant are high-capacity, up to 12,500 m3/hour. One operational compressor unit provides compressed air for three cement mills. When the fourth cement mill was launched, a second high-capacity compressor unit had to be installed. It was not reasonable as some of the compressed air produced was not used and was released into the atmosphere.

The new compressor unit will ensure that the operation of the high-capacity compressor units is optimised by supplementing the compressed air system. This will help to achieve the required productivity and at the same time reduce energy costs in the cement production and transportation process.
