Amrize to install an MVR mill at its Saint-Constant plant

Amrize will install an MVR 3750 R-4 roller mill for grinding cement raw material at the Saint-Constant cement plant near Montreal. The equipment will be supplied by a German manufacturer of industrial equipment.

Amrize, formerly Holcim North America and renamed in 2025, is a supplier of building materials in North America, including cement, aggregates, concrete and asphalt. The company also offers building solutions, including roofing systems.

The MVR 3750 R-4 mill is designed for outdoor operation at low temperatures down to -30 °C. The equipment will be fitted with an SLS 3450 VR classifier of the latest design.

The raw mill will have a capacity of 280 t/h. It will grind cement raw material to a fineness of 12 % residue on 0.090 mm while simultaneously drying the material from a feed moisture content of around 2.55 % to a residual moisture of less than 0.5 %.

The mill drive has an installed power of 2,415 kW.
