BCC holding increased the volume of cement production in the first 6 months of 2021

The volume of industrial production of the Belarusian Cement Company holding in January–June 2021 increased by 5.4 %, including cement which was 1.6 % (up to 2.3 million tons). The beginning of the year was difficult for the holding. The main reason is the abnormally frosty and prolonged winter. As a result, the pace of construction slowed down not only in Belarus, but also in neighboring countries which traditionally buy construction materials in large volumes from BCC.

In the first quarter, demand on the domestic market decreased by 22 %, while exports – by 19.5 %. The indicators are shown in comparison with the same period in 2020.

In the second quarter, the plants of the holding made up for lost time. Only OAO Belarusian Cement Plant, one of the three head plants of the company, received 1.7 million rubles in net profit in May. In general, profits from sales for the first half of the year amounted to 14.8 million rubles, which is 12 million rubles more than in January-June last year. The overall return on sales has tripled compared to the same period in 2020 and amounted to + 3.1 %.

The BCC holding includes 26 plants producing cement and building materials based on cement.
