In January-August 2020, Belarus increased the volume of cement imports by 13.4 % YoY, up to 372,600 tons. Meanwhile, the volume of cement exports decreased by 8.3 % YoY, down to 1 million tons. The main import partner of Belarus was the Russian Federation. Belarus imported 321,400 tons of cement from Russia in 8M 2020, which is 57.6 % YoY more.
The volume of cement imports from Latvia decreased by 36.7 % YoY, down to 30,300 tons, from Ukraine — by 80.9 % YoY, down to 9,700 tons, from Turkey — by 13 %, down to 8,500 tons.
The cost of imports in 8M 2020 increased by 1.1 % compared to January-August 2019, up to US$ 18.89 million.
The volume of cement production in Belarus in January-August 2020 increased by 1 % YoY, up to 3,27 million tons.
