In January-September 2020, Ukrainian enterprises produced 7.21 million tons of cement, which is 5.9 % more than in 9M 2019. The volume of cement production in September increased by 13.8 % compared to last September and amounted to 1.08 million tons.
The volume of clinker production in the 9M 2020 increased 2.8 % YoY and amounted to 5.46 million tons. The volume of clinker production in September increased by 5.6 % compared to last September and amounted to 775,600 tons.
Lime production volume increased by 2.6 % in January-September to 1.73 million tons. The volume of lime production in September increased by 3.5 % compared to last September and amounted to 186,100 tons.
The introduction of import duties for Belarusian and Moldovian clinker and cement, along with the ban of Russian cement products on August 1, 2019, boosted the demand for local products. Duties for all goods from Moldova (including cement) were set at 94.46 %, and duties for all goods from Belarus (including cement) were set at 57.03 %. More than 80 % of cement imports are products of Turkish enterprises.
