This was announced by Alexander Dovgalo, CEO of the state-owned management company of the Belarusian Cement Company (BCK) holding, at the press conference “The Construction Industry of Belarus: Yesterday, Today, Tomorrow. Results and Achievements.”
“The five-year period that has begun is marked by a serious focus on the further modernisation of cement plants — Krasnoselskstroymaterialy, Belarusian Cement Plant and Krichevcementnoshifer. The main objective is to reduce fuel and energy consumption and make our products more competitive, particularly in foreign markets,” Dovgalo said.
Another priority is the modernisation of reinforced concrete product facilities. Last year, Belarus opened its first additive manufacturing centre, while BCK joined a new technical standardisation committee on additive manufacturing. The company is developing 3D-printed concrete products and has already tested dry mixes for 3D printing that were previously not produced in Belarus.
According to Dovgalo, the industry has entered a new stage of development. Over the past six years, cement production increased by 753,000 tonnes compared with 2019, while exports and total sales grew by almost 20 %, mainly due to higher exports. Wages and gross value added per employee increased 2.6-fold, while operating profit rose 2.4-fold. A total of US$440 million was invested in the industry over the six-year period.
BCK is also focusing on logistics, innovation and import substitution. Production of artificial gypsum has been launched in Krichev, which will gradually reduce the need to import natural gypsum from Russia. The company plans to scale up the project, with the cement industry requiring around 300,000 tonnes of gypsum annually.
BCK also plans to increase the use of RDF fuel. Additional equipment for its supply is expected to be installed at the plants by the first quarter of 2027.
New wall systems using gas-silicate (aerated concrete) blocks have also been developed and patented. Residential buildings based on the technology are already under construction in the Grodno Region, with estimated savings on construction and installation costs of 25–60 %.
