Belarusian Krichevcementnoshifer Reconstructs Elevated Track

Krichevcementnoshifer in the Mogilev region of Belarus finalized the reconstruction of the elevated track for rail cargo bulk unloading. The reconstruction costs amounted to 1.4 million BYN ($586,000). The initial documentation (designed by TransSoyuzProekt) estimated costs of the project at about 1.9 million Belarusian rubles ($795,000).

The general contractor was Cemstroyremont — a subsidiary of the state-owned Belarusian Cement Company. The reconstruction began in June last year, and the major part of works has been completed by March 2020. The costs were reduced by approximately 500,000 Belarusian rubles ($209,000).

The new elevated tracks help eliminate the possibility of mixing bulk goods and reduce unloading time. The company’s own gantry crane allows it to abandon outsourced unloading solutions and reduce the cost of unloading.

Krichevcementnoshifer increased cement dispatches in Q1 2020 by 22 %, up to 302,000 tons. Krichevcementnoshifer has a design capacity of 1.6 million tons per year with over 80 % of the company's products are dispatched by rail.
